I drew a lot as a kid and secretly wanted to be a cartoonist when I grew up. I also spent a number of summers in Iceland as a kid with my mother’s side of the family, where I had the opportunity to watch family friend and well known Icelandic artist, Petur Frederick paint the Icelandic Landscape plein air style. Which I thought was so cool to get in a van drive out to the countryside and spend the day painting beautiful scenes. So after almost 30 years in the business world I decided to start painting about a year and a half ago with Kathy Kittell and Bill McLane at Don’s Art in Warren. It’s been a lot of fun and I’ve learned a lot.
I’m continuing to learn and hopefully improve my skill.
