The core of Lamere’s work focuses on the natural world and its seasonal views. Forever inspired by the landscape of Cape Cod, her oil & encaustic paintings convey a sense of wonder with nature, often using multiple media and collage to enhance her vision of the landscape’s texture and immediacy.
Community String Project Chamber Ensemble to perform repertoire selections from their current season and celebrated favorites: Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Mozart, and others.

New paintings and drawings from two psychedelic masters from Top Drawer Art At The Brass: New England’s premier Outsider Art center”. Exhibit runs from June 8th through the 26th. Reception to be held on June 25th 5:30-9 pm.

Painter and cartoonist, Seamus O. Hames, Director of Arts at Top Drawer Art At The Brass, will be exhibiting a series of drawings focusing on the artists’ colony and fishing village of Monhegan Island, Maine.
Live ‘Rustic Ambient’ music or ‘Background Banjo’ will be provided by River Buddha’.
Feature Artist: ED MCALOON
Ed McAloon, is a mixed media artist residing in Warren, RI. His artwork reflects subjects of life-long concern. “Having lived near the sea my entire life, I’ve grown to respect its beauty and its creatures and be concerned for its preservation. The effect of the light is a constant fascination to me and this is reflected in my use of glass in much of my work. I also strive to express observations occurring in the world around me, and continue to investigate materials and methods which explore these possibilities.”

Keitner’s work in this exhibit is titled “Sans-souci” and was partially inspired by a quote from Betty Friedan, “Aging is not lost youth, but a new stage of opportunity and strength.” Born in Budapest in the mid-40s, Keitner graduated with a BFA from Ecole des Beaux Arts de Montreal, majoring in graphic design and photography. His prior work as a graphic designer, art director and commercial photographer informs his fine art photography.

As a cruiser, explorer and racer he has studied and admired the many sailing vessels gracing these waters. Believing “form follows a logical result of the nautical environment in which they are enjoyed”, John has been meticulously creating model boat half-hulls since 1957. Join us for our nautically themed evening, enjoy a dark and stormy and meet our salty artist.

Our artisans and craftsmen specialize in translating the artist’s vision from drawings, models, maquettes or a simple sketch. Building sculpture to last generations, and engineering structures to withstand whatever forces will be encountered excites us! Our aluminum painting process – virtually indestructible – has its origins in the Aerospace Industry. Abbott Low, who lived in Bristol and Providence and received his BFA from the Maine College of Art, was a lifelong artist. His knowledge of the natural world is reflected in the exhibition paintings of birds and fantastic creatures in their natural surroundings. He explored the idea of “flying mice” and other colorful species in the oil paintings which are part of an exhibit on view in the Abbot Low Gallery at the Bristol Art Museum through July 12th. Museum Hours: Thurs-Sun 1-4pm. Will Heacock’s large impressive urns remind us of the antiquity of the past and Candace Cotterman Thibeault’s small works in ceramics are on view in the Livingston Gallery.

Feature Artist: ERIK WARNER
Erik Warner has lived and worked in the East Bay for over 27 years and owns TJ Russell Supply in Bristol. He took up oil painting as a hobby, 3 years ago, taking weekly lessons at Don’s Art Shop in Warren, RI. He’s inspired by teachers Kathy Kittell and Bill Mc Clane and by the surrounding landscape, often taking photos as source material for his paintings.

Stephanie works predominantly in oils but enjoys different media including pastels and acrylics. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions around the country and has won many awards. She was a featured artist in Nov/Dec 2002 issue of The Pastel Journal Magazine. Stephanie is a member of the Pastel Society of America and is a Signature member of Pastel Painters of Cape Cod.
