New to 30 Cutler Street, resident artist & sculptor, Laura Travis will demonstrate stonecarving in her studio, 219A, which will be open during Art Night on May 28th. Laura has been carving stone and teaching classes in stone carving for over 20 years. Her work has been shown in Newport, Toronto, Maryland and Providence; she was selected as a NetWorks RI artist in 2011. www.lauratraviscarving.com

Color, geometry and assorted fiber embellishments combine in quilts that tell the story of the world of women’s creative gifts. Allison’s work has traditional quilting roots, yet travels into the painterly world of the art quilt. She uses fabric, designs and quilting motifs inspired by global textiles and themes.

Donna Neville Custom Framing, at 81 Water Street, is pleased to open its doors for May 28th’s Art Night with “Focus on Florals”, featuring paintings by Amanda Marshall Zingg. Don’s Art Shop was founded by Don Primiano in 1955. Since then he has been known to many as the “father of art” in Warren. He taught drawing and painting classes to children and adults before retiring in 2000. At age 92 Don is still painting. His style ranges from primitive realism to abstract expressionism. His work is in many public and private collections such as Brown University and Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Current works can be seen at Don’s Art Shop Studio Gallery. Dennis Di Mauro Jr. began photograph- ing weddings as well as business, and family events with his father when he was a teenager. Photography quickly became, and continues to be, one of his passions in life. He enjoys trying new ideas, being creative, and connecting with the subject of the picture. Over the last few years, he has become fascinated with photographing hawks, hummingbirds, and other backyard birds motivating him to experience and photograph nature and the story behind it.

8 10 Wardwell Street BRISTOL ART MUSEUM CURRENT EXHIBITS: ABBOT LOW, WILL HEACOCK AND CANDANCE COTTERMAN THIBEAULT, & “LOCAL LANDMARKS”
Abbott Low, who lived in Bristol and Providence and received his BFA from the Maine College of Art, was a lifelong artist. His knowledge of the natural world is reflected in the exhibition paintings of birds and fantastic creatures in their natural surroundings. He explored the idea of “flying mice” and other colorful species in the oil paintings which are part of an exhibit on view in the Abbot Low Gallery at the Bristol Art Museum through July 12th. Museum Hours: Thurs-Sun 1-4pm. Will Heacock’s large impressive urns remind us of the antiquity of the past and Candace Cotterman Thibeault’s small works in ceramics are on view in the Livingston Gallery. The “Local Landmarks” exhibit, across the street at Roger’s Free Library, represents a variety of media depicting local landmarks.
