Drawer and Painter
Emmet Estrada is an artist employed at Top Drawer Art at The BRASS, a studio and gallery for adults with developmental disabilities. Every day at Top Drawer, he draws people who he says are from China, Japan, Mexico, France, or Egypt, all in the remarkably speedy hand-style of a graffiti writer, and with all the “Spirit Resonance” of traditional Chinese painting. His work has been featured in Providence Art Windows and the 2010 International VSA Festival at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. He was recently given the 2010 Wynn Newhouse Award.
